Federal Prosecutors Have Charged A Veteran NYPD Cop With Exploiting And Enticing Minors For Sex
The Feds have charged a veteran NYPD cop of sex offenses involving several underage victims. Prosecutors allege Christopher Terranova used his position as a police officer to prey on boys.
Prosecutors charged the 33-year old Terranova with attempting to exploit children by coercion and enticement of minors for sex.
Authorities allege Terranova used his position as a police officer to gain access to a victim. The victim had previously been the victim of a crime.
Terranova is accused of using Snapchat to engage in sexually explicit conversations with underage boys. He then attempted to convince his victims to share nude photographs with himself. He allegedly targeted kids he met socially or through his job as an NYPD officer.
The FBI alleges that on at least one occasion, he offered to give a boy a ride home from a party. However, Terranova took the boy to a secluded location where he directed the victim to engage in sex acts with him.
One encounter involved a 15-year-old male robbery victim. Terranova had accessed the boy’s contact information. He then allegedly texted him saying,
The ex-cop is suspected of connecting with his victim on Snapchat. Terranova allegedly attempted to discuss sex and porn with the teen. The former cop also sent sexually explicit photographs of himself. He then attempted to entice the boy to send him pictures,
Staten Island Advance reports that following a suspension, Terranova retired from the force in September.
Terranova allegedly also met a 12-year-old boy who he then reached out to on social media. The former cop sent the boy a photo of himself in his underwear. He then messaged the pre-teen about masturbation and asking him to send photos of his “pubes” and penis,
If convicted, Terranova could face between 15 years and a life sentence behind bars.
