Who Is Skeeter Jean?
Skeeter Jean’s YouTube channel describes him as a “professional Chris Hansen impersonator.”
He of course is referring to the host of “To Catch a Predator.” His videos closely follow the same formula Hansen used on his show. Hanson’s show used a decoy poses as a female juvenile. “She” responds to messages from adult men seeking to meet them with expectations of having sex.
Young said he appreciated Skeeter Jean’s efforts before they harmed children. However, he said his preference was for people to leave such activities to police.
Young said civilians attempting to catch people could make errors that make it difficult to prosecute the suspects.
Young also noted that Skeeter Jean chose a public event to confront the suspects. He said this could have endangered the public. Young stated one of the men was carrying a gun. He also had a valid concealed pistol license at the time of his arrest.
Both men face up to four years in prison if convicted. Both also have probable cause conferences scheduled for 9 am on September 9th.
