Homeland Security Busts Suburban Detroit Elementary School Teacher Entering The US With A Stash Of Kiddie Porn

A federal grand jury has indicted a suburban Detroit elementary school teacher. Authorities allege Eastpointe teacher Martin Daryl Waskowski crossed into the US from Canada with a stash of child porography. They also allege Waskowski was planning on distributing the material.  

Court records show that on December 3, 2025 US Customs in Vermont stopped Waskowski at a border crossing.

HSI agents searched Waskowski’s digital devices. The search found child pornography. The FBI and HSI did subsequent search of Waskowski’s home in Royal Oak, Michigan. The FBI seized numerous electronic devices containing child pornography. These images contained images of very young children being sexually assaulted by adults.

A further investigation revealed that Waskowski had allegedly attempted to produce child pornography. He did this by using a spy camera to monitor a minor victim in a restroom.

Waskowski is also facing federal charges for child exploitation offenses in Vermont.  He is currently in custody in Detroit.

US Attorney Jerome Gorgon told the media:

“These alleged crimes are disgusting. It is a parent’s worst nightmare to have a predator teaching our children. I am thankful for the men and women who find and prosecute these evil people. HSI will continue to prioritize the safety and security of children in our communities especially when offenders occupy positions of public trust.”

The Homeland Security Investigations Detroit and Burlington offices are investigating this case. They have also received significant assistance from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

An indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. The burden is on the government to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
