Federal Judge Sentences US Air Force Major To 5 Years In Federal Prison For Possessing Filipino Kiddie Porn
US District Judge Steven Merryday has sentenced US Air Force Major Steven Dennis Mack to five years in federal prison. The court found Mack guilty of receiving child sexual abuse material. The court also sentenced Mack’s to a lifetime of supervised release after his release. Why? He received child sexual abuse material (CSAM). In addition the court ordered Mack to pay $42,500 in restitution to his victim and $40,000 in fines. The court also ordered Mack to also register as a sex offender. Mack entered a guilty plea on March 6, 2025. An Air Force court martial is pending.
Court documents show Mack sent an image of CSAM from his personal email address to an individual in the Philippines.
Law enforcement obtained a search warrant for Mack’s electronic devices and his Tampa home. Police found hundreds of emails exchanged with the Philippines user. Mack and Filipino discussed engaging in sexual activities with minors. Law enforcement seized a cellphone and laptop computer from Mack’s home. A search of the laptop showed that Mack searched terms consistent with CSAM. Her also accessed pornographic content.
A search of the cellphone revealed that it contained 64 images of CSAM. Further investigation revealed that Mack had viewed most of those images in Tampa in June and December 2023.
Both The USAF OSI Detachment 340 at MacDill Air Force Base and the Tampa Police investigated this case. Assistant United States Attorney Ross Roberts prosecuted the case.
