Former Mormon Missionary Kills His Parents And Housekeeper And Then Goes On Shopping Spree Buying Sex Toys And Ribs

California police have charged A former Mormon missionary after he viciously murdered his parents and their longtime housekeeper. Police say after the grusome murder, Camden Nicholson went and bought sex toys and ribs.

Nicholson has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to the murders of Kim and Richard Nicholson. In addition to the murder of their maid Maria Morse.

The killings happened in the ritzy and gated California community in the Bonita Canyon. Nicholson murdered his parents and housekeeper hours after being released from a mental health hold. The hospital released Nicholson against his doctor’s recommendations.

The trial began this week.

Prosecutors will show Nicholson stabbed his parents with knives and bludgeoned them with blunt objects on February 14, 2019. He then killed Morse the next day.

Mercury News reports that prosecutors will argue Nicholson walked to his parents’ home. He then  lay in wait for them to come home.

Nicholson allegedly attacked his father as he arrived home first and moved his body into a small bathroom. He then used towels to stop blood seeping out as he continually slashed at his body.

Nicholson then waited for hours until his mother came home. He then attacked her in the garage.

The next day, Nicholson allegedly did the same to Morse. He slit her throat in kitchen before going on a spending spree with their cards and vehicles.

Prosecutors said Nicholson bought marijuana from a dispensary. He then purchased sex toys and lube. He later bought ribs from a Gelson’s supermarket after killing Morse.

Nicholson turned himself into authorities the next day. He allegedly admitted to the killings but claimed he did so out of self-defense.

Is Nicholson Mentally Ill?

Nicholson’s defense attorney Richard Cheung told jurors that he had a history of mental health issues. Doctors had diagnosed Nicholson with psychosis, depression and paranoia. Additionally, authorities hospitalized Nicholson numerous times over the years.

He said Nicholson’s mental health issues emerged seven years before the killings while he was serving as a missionary.

Cheung said Nicholson left the missionary service and dropped out of college. He then stopped taking his medication when he moved in with his parents.

Nicholson disappeared three months before the killings. During his disappearance, he would sent people he knew a slew of vile messages.

This led his parents to cut off his credit cards and tried to get him to seek mental health support. He ultimately went to hospital on February 5, 2019 on a mental health hold.

He remained on the mental health hold until February 11, 2019. During his stay he told doctors that his parents were ‘satanic.’

He also told doctors that they would, try to find me and classify me as insane.”

Doctors diagnosed Nicholson with schizoaffective disorder while in the hospital. Prosecutors said doctors were concerned about discharging him when he was released.

After carrying out the killings over the next several days and turning himself in. Nicholson told police to visit his parents’ home and said, “There is a triple homicide there, motherf***er.”

Nicholson’s trial is ongoing. It will consist of two phases because he is trying to plead not guilty by reason of insanity. The first phase will try his possible guilt. The second phase will focus on his mental state.

If found to have been sane, he faces life in prison without the possibility of parole. If found to be insane, he would likely be sent to hospital.
